How it works
Lion's Mane stimulates the production of nerve growth factor (NGF), a protein your brain uses to maintain existing neural connections and build new ones. Stronger connections mean clearer thinking and better recall. This isn't a short-term boost. It's a gradual strengthening of the infrastructure your brain runs on.

Where it comes from
Lion's Mane is an edible mushroom that grows on hardwood trees across North America, Europe, and Asia. It's been used in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine for centuries. We use a concentrated extract rather than whole mushroom powder, which delivers a higher concentration of the active compounds.

The dose we use
We use 800 mg per serving. Most studies on Lion's Mane use between 500 mg and 3,000 mg daily, depending on the extract concentration. Our dose sits within the effective range used in cognitive function research.

Cordyceps

Mushroom Extract • 200 mg

Cordyceps Mushroom Extract

Keeps the brain energised throughout the day so mental fatigue takes longer to set in.

How it works
Cordyceps supports the production of ATP, the molecule your cells use as fuel. Your brain consumes roughly 20% of your body's energy despite being about 2% of your body weight. When ATP production is more efficient, your brain has access to more fuel for longer. That translates to less mental fatigue during long working days.

Where it comes from
Cordyceps is a fungus originally found in the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas. It's been used in traditional Tibetan and Chinese medicine for centuries for energy and stamina. Modern cordyceps is cultivated in controlled environments to ensure consistency and purity. We use a concentrated extract.

The dose we use
We use 200 mg per serving. Studies on cordyceps and cognitive performance typically use between 200 mg and 1,000 mg daily, depending on the extract type and concentration. Our dose is at the lower end of the studied range as a complementary ingredient alongside Lion's Mane.

Taurine

Amino Acid • 50 mg

Taurine Amino Acid

Keeps brain signals clean and efficient during long stretches of focused work.

How it works
Taurine is an amino acid that plays a role in how neurons communicate with each other. When your brain is under sustained demand, the quality of those signals can degrade. Taurine helps keep the communication between neurons running cleanly and efficiently, especially during long periods of concentrated mental work.

Why it's in this formula
Taurine acts as a supporting ingredient in Boost Your Mind. While Lion's Mane builds long-term brain connections and Cordyceps fuels energy production, Taurine keeps the signal quality high in the moment. It's the ingredient that helps the other two do their jobs more effectively.

What happens when you're running low
Taurine is normally produced by the body and found in meat and fish. During periods of high mental demand, the body's supply can be stretched. Low taurine is associated with reduced cognitive performance and increased mental fatigue. Supplementing ensures your brain has enough available when it matters.

A small amount of natural caffeine balanced by L-Theanine. Alert and focused without the jitters.

How it works
Green Tea Extract contains two active compounds that work together. Caffeine provides mild alertness. L-Theanine smooths out the caffeine so you get focus without the spike-and-crash pattern of coffee. At 50 mg of extract, the caffeine content is a fraction of a cup of coffee. Vitamin B5

Pantothenic Acid • 3 mg

Vitamin B5 Pantothenic Acid

Helps turn food into fuel the brain can actually use. A basic building block of energy metabolism.

How it works
Vitamin B5 is essential for producing coenzyme A, which is involved in turning the food you eat into usable energy. It also plays a role in adrenal function. Your adrenal glands produce cortisol and other stress hormones. When they're working overtime, they need more B5 to function properly.

B5 appears in three of our four products because its role is universal. Vitamin B6 Pyridoxine

Supports serotonin, dopamine, and melatonin production and helps regulate mood, focus, and sleep.

How it works
Vitamin B6 is directly involved in producing several of your brain's most important chemicals. Serotonin regulates mood. Dopamine drives motivation and reward. How it works
Vitamin B12 is involved in maintaining the myelin sheath, the protective coating around your nerves. Healthy myelin means faster, cleaner nerve signalling throughout the body and brain. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has been studied extensively for its effects on stress, cortisol, and mental resilience. KSM-66, the specific extract we use, has over 24 clinical trials behind it, making it the most researched ashwagandha extract available. Here are some of the studies that shaped how we use it.

Ashwagandha KSM-66 Root Extract

Some recent studies:

1. Cortisol dropped 27.9% in adults with chronic stress

64 adults with chronic stress took 600mg KSM-66 daily for 60 days. The ashwagandha group showed a 27.9% reduction in serum cortisol vs. 7.9% in placebo.

2. Perceived stress reduced 38% in 8 weeks

60 healthy adults took either 250mg or 600mg KSM-66 daily for 8 weeks. The 600mg group showed a 38% reduction in Perceived Stress Scale scores and significant cortisol reduction.

3. Sleep quality and morning alertness improved in 8 weeks

80 healthy adults (half with sleep difficulties) took 600mg KSM-66 daily for 8 weeks. Participants showed improved sleep quality, reduced time to fall asleep, and greater mental alertness on waking.

4. Recall memory, cortisol, and sleep all improved in 90 days

125 stressed adults took 300mg ashwagandha daily for 90 days. Recall memory improved, cortisol dropped, sleep quality increased, and happiness scores rose vs. placebo.

5. Five memory domains improved in adults with cognitive decline

50 adults with mild cognitive impairment took 600mg KSM-66 daily for 8 weeks. Immediate memory, general memory, executive function, attention, and processing speed all improved vs. placebo.

6. Working memory and attention improved, mental fatigue reduced

120 adults took 600mg KSM-66 daily for 8 weeks. Episodic memory, working memory, and accuracy of attention all improved. Mental fatigue was reduced.

7. Reaction time and word recall improved in 30 days

59 healthy young adults took 225mg liposomal ashwagandha daily for 30 days. Word recall, picture recognition, and reaction time improved. Tension and fatigue both decreased.

8. Meta-analysis confirms improved sleep quality at higher doses

Meta-analysis of 5 randomised controlled trials covering 372 adults. Small but significant improvement in sleep quality, with stronger results at 600mg doses and 8+ weeks of use.

9. Six of seven clinical trials found significant stress reduction

Systematic review of 7 randomised controlled trials covering 491 adults. Six of seven studies found ashwagandha significantly reduced stress and related measures vs. placebo across 6-8 week periods.

10. Safe for 12 months of daily use with zero serious side effects

191 healthy adults took 600mg KSM-66 daily for 12 months. No serious adverse events. Liver, kidney, and thyroid function all remained normal. Quality of life scores improved over the year.

Is ashwagandha safe to take every day?

Ashwagandha has been used for centuries and is one of the most studied adaptogens available. There are hundreds of published studies on ashwagandha, including multiple clinical trials looking at daily use over 8 to 12 weeks. The research consistently shows it’s well tolerated at the doses studied.

At the dose we use, it’s suitable for daily long-term use.

As with any supplement, if you’re pregnant, nursing, or taking medication, check with your doctor first.

Wait, creatine for the brain?

Most people know creatine as a gym supplement. But your brain uses more energy per pound than any other organ. Creatine helps replenish that energy at the cellular level.

Creatine monohydrate has over 500 published studies behind it. The cognitive benefits are well documented alongside the physical performance research.

I already take creatine powder. How is this different?

Where does this research come from? Are these your own studies?

We want to be clear about this. The research we reference is from independent published studies on the individual ingredients, not clinical trials on ELEMENTS products specifically.

These studies were conducted by universities and research institutions around the world and published in peer-reviewed journals. We didn’t run them and we don’t claim to have. What we did is choose ingredients that have strong published evidence behind them, and use the forms and doses that were actually studied.

Why these specific doses?

Some of our ingredients match the exact doses used in published studies. Creatine monohydrate at 5g is a good example. That’s the dose used in hundreds of studies and that’s what we use.

For some ingredients, we use a lower dose than the highest amounts studied. This is a deliberate choice. Our products are multi-ingredient formulas designed for daily long-term use in a gummy format. Some study doses are high enough that they would require a different regulatory classification.

We chose doses that are effective for daily use within a formula that works together. We’re transparent about this because we’d rather explain our thinking honestly than pretend every ingredient is at the maximum possible dose.

Are these doses safe to take daily long-term?

Yes. We chose well-studied ingredients at doses with established safety profiles for daily use. That was a deliberate part of the formulation process.

Every ingredient we use has published research supporting its safety at or above the dose we include. We didn’t push the boundaries on any dose. We went with what the evidence supports for ongoing daily use.

Are functional mushrooms safe?

Yes. Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Reishi are the three functional mushrooms in our products. All three have long histories of traditional use and published research supporting their safety.

Lion’s Mane (800mg in Boost Your Mind) and Cordyceps (200mg in Boost Your Mind) have been studied for cognitive support. Reishi (50mg in Restore Yourself) has been studied for relaxation and sleep support. At the doses we use, all three are well tolerated for daily use.

These aren’t psychoactive mushrooms. They’re functional mushrooms with specific research-backed benefits.

What’s the difference between adaptogens and stimulants?

Stimulants like caffeine force your body into a higher gear. The effects are fast and obvious, but they wear off and you crash. Your body also builds tolerance, so you need more over time to get the same effect.

Adaptogens work differently. They help your body manage stress and maintain balance over time. The effects are gradual rather than immediate. Your body doesn’t build tolerance the same way. And there’s no crash when they wear off.
